At Home Manicure

One of the most annoying things I have come across after moving to this city is how much more expensive it is for a manicure or pedicure. Eventually, I decided that I needed to teach myself how to do my own nails. For anyone who shares my frustration, here are the basic steps for an at home manicure.
  1. Take off current nail polish (if any)
  2. Clip your nails to the length of your choice
  3. File them to be square or rounded and then buff your nail
  4. Push back your cuticles, if you'd like you can trim the cuticles
  5. Exfoliate your hands (I use an exfoliator from Lush cosmetics)
  6. Apply the base coat
  7. Moisturize your hands ( I use Vaseline Intensive care)
  8. Apply nail polish color of your choice
  9. Apply a top coat
  10. One more coat of nail polish color of choice
  11. Lastly, clean up around the edges and be patient while your nails dry

As a model, I have had the privilege of working with some of the top nail artists out there. Here is a photo of my favorite nail art I have had on a shoot. They are by Honey Nails for Glamour UK.

I hope this post was helpful and informative to those who are like me, and fed up with the high cost of nail solons.
